Bellator announced today that the winner of the September 22 WFL eight man heavyweight tournament in Almere, Netherlands will earn a Bellator Kickboxing contract.
The tournament, which was rescheduled from May, includes a number of well known heavyweights including Romanian star Andrei Stoica, Glory and Enfusion veteran Fred Sikking, Clyde Brunswijk, and Fabio Kwasi of Mike’s Gym.
There’s also an elite level women’s kickboxing super fight on the show, as two of the best female fighters in the world, Jorina Baars and Anissa Haddaoui, do battle. Baars is considered one of the best in the world, and 2016 Mulan Legend champion Haddaoui is not far behind.
A number of other super fights are scheduled featuring Dutch fighters.
Former K-1 and It’s Showtime star Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef is the WFL founder.
