This Sunday February 17, the World Fighting League holds an event at the Topsportcentrum in Almere, Netherlands. The promotion is starting the year with a bang-there are title fights, super fights, and two tournaments scheduled.
One title bout is for the WFL 77 kg Championship. Jay Overmeer defends against hard-hitting Darryl Sichtman in a rematch. Sichtman earned the title shot by winning a four-man 77 kg tournament at the last WFL event in October.
The WFL 86 kg title is also on the line as Santino Verbeek risks his crown against Dennis Ipema.
The tournaments are scheduled in the 70 kg and 95 kg weight categories. The 70 kg tournament features eight of the league’s top fighters, while the 95 kg tournament is a four-man affair.
Here is fight card (subject to change).
Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef, the K-1 veteran and former It’s Showtime champion, is the founder of the World Fighting League.
