Dutch kickboxing star Jorina Baars, widely considered one of the best female kickboxers in the world, will now face France’s Amel Dehby Saturday at the WFL event in Almere, Netherlands. The promotion made the announcement on social media.
Baars had been scheduled to face Anissa Haddoui, also of the Netherlands, the 2016 Kunlun Fight Mulan Legend tournament winner. Haddoui recently competed in the 2018 Mulan Legend tournament, and was unable to face Baars due to injury.
Dehby has a listed record of 32-2. The French fighter’s only losses were to former Glory super bantamweight champions Anissa Meksen and Tiffany van Soest, both losses by decision. The Meksen defeat was at Glory 53 earlier this year in France.
Saturday’s WFL event also includes an eight-man heavyweight tournament. The WFL is headed by former K-1 and It’s Showtime star Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef.
