Enfusion contender Milan Pales was profiled by the Sport 7 website in his native Slovakia.
Pales, who fights out of the Diamond Gym, is currently ranked ninth by the organization in the 70 kg weight category. In 2018, Pales defeated Yassin Baitar of Morocco by decision, and stopped Youssef Challouki of Belgium in bouts for the promotion.
Pales also competed in a four-man qualifier for the 2018 Kunlun Fight Max 70 kg, and won his first bout before losing by stoppage to Marouan Toutouh in the final.
Pales said the quality of kickboxing in Slovakia is good, but the sport “is not well appreciated” there. He mentioned a few names, including veteran Tomas Hron and Enfusion 80 kg champion Vladimir Moravcik, when asked his opinion of the top fighter in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The fighter said he “wants to get as high as possible” during his fighting career, and wouldn’t retire after winning a belt. Raising the stature of his country in the sport is also important to Pales.
The interviewer asked Pales, 26, what he would tell people who think combat sports are brutal.
He said that he suffered more injuries playing soccer than in kickboxing.
