GLORY heavyweight contender Guto Inocente is back in the ring in his native Brazil Saturday after a three-year absence.
Inocente is the reigning WGP Super Heavyweight Champion, and defends his title versus Albanian challenger Francesco Xhaja at the WGP 55 event taking place in Brasilia.
It’s the first bout for Inocente since a unanimous decision loss to Jamal Ben Saddik in the semifinals of the GLORY 62 heavyweight tournament in December. Inocente defeated Mohammed Abdallah by split decision in the quarterfinals, but was outpointed by tournament winner Ben Saddik.
The WGP organization is the top kickboxing promotion in Latin America. Many top Brazilian fighters such as GLORY Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira and Inocente have competed for the organization.
The fight card includes a four-man tournament in the 64.5 kg weight category, as well as super fights.
The event is being televised in Brazil and Latin America, but is also available internationally via Fite TV on a pay-per-view basis.
