The World Fighting League organization announced today it postponed its event scheduled for April 21 to the 9th of June.
According to the statement, the municipality where the event is to be held requested “additional information” from the organization, and the WFL was “seriously delayed” in getting the required permit to hold the event. (translated)
The postponement means some fights will have to be “reconfirmed”, and “there will be an adjusted matchmaking”.
The April event was scheduled to include the long-awaited female super fight between top Dutch fighters Jorina Baars and Anissa Haddaoui. Baars, best known for her Thai-rules victory over MMA fighter Cyborg, is considered one of the best female fighters in the world. Haddaoui fights out of Mike’s Gym in Amsterdam, and is also considered one of the best female fighters pound-for-pound. Baars holds a previous win over Haddaoui.
Fans who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster can receive a full refund or attend the June event.
