Heavyweight contender D’Angelo Marshall is unable to compete at Friday’s GLORY 63 event in Houston, Texas because of “a visa issue”. Glory writer John O’Regan broke the story this morning in an article on the promotion’s website.
Marshall was scheduled to headline the GLORY 63 Superfight Series portion of the event against Demoreo Dennis of Oklahoma. Dennis now faces James Chapman in a preliminary bout.
With Marshall off the card, the new main event for the GLORY 63 Superfight Series is between former middleweight champion Jason “Psycho” Wilnis and local lad Jacob Rodriguez. Rodriguez hails from the Houston area, and made his GLORY debut last summer with an upset win over prospect Joe Taylor.
The Wilnis-Taylor bout was previously scheduled to be part of the GLORY 63 main card. The main card will now feature a bout between unbeaten lightweight Lorawnt-T Nelson and Wensheng Zhang.
In another late lineup shuffle, the featherweight bout between unbeaten Abraham Vidales and Dimitre Ivy will now take place as part of the GLORY 63 Superfight Series.
GLORY 63 takes place this Friday February 1 at the Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas and will be broadcast worldwide (check local listings). Featherweight champion Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao defends his crown against former champion Serhii Adamchuk in the main event.
