During her post event interview with Glory CEO Marshall Zelaznik, Glory correspondent Whitney Miller broke the news that light heavyweight champion Artem Vakhitov told her that Vakhitov may have broken his hand. It happened in round two of Vakhitov’s title defense against Danyo Ilunga last night at Glory 56. Vakhitov noticeably did not use his right hand as often as he could have during the bout, and seldom threw it with full power.
The hard-hitting Vakhitov’s career has been plagued by hand troubles. His close decision win over Ilunga was only his first bout in 2018. The Russian champion has broken his right hand on multiple occasions.
