Tough Talk from Team Vannostrand
The March edition of Inside GLORY features training footage and interviews with Kevin Vannostrand and manager Amer Abdallah. Vannostrand, the GLORY interim featherweight champion, will face reigning champion Robin van Roosmalen of the Netherlands March 31 at Glory 52. The New York fighter figures to be a huge underdog. Vannostrand is only listed as having eighteen kickboxing fights, while van Roosmalen has fought at the top level for years and beaten some of the top names in the sport. Vannostrand and Abdallah are banking on the interim champion’s unorthodox style and power to pull off the shocking upset.
“You don’t prepare to fight Kevin Vannostrand. You deal with Kevin Vannostrand,” said Abdallah. “He’s a different breed of fighter. He’s not Dutch, he’s not French, he’s not Canadian. I don’t even know what planet the kid’s from. Robin, March 31 we’re taking that title. We’re going to dump you right on your neck.”
““He’s human. A lot of people fear him for no reason. I don’t. He’s just never fought anybody like me,” said Vannostrand.
