This past weekend, GLORY veteran Joe Taylor won a U.S. title with a brutal high-kick knockout over Jay Jackson at the Lace Up Promotions event in Lockport, New York. It was a big win for Taylor, who hails from the area and hadn’t competed locally in over a year.
It was probably the knockout of the weekend.
There was discussion on social media about Jackson’s condition after the bout. According to reports, Jackson suffered a concussion and was taken to the hospital.
Today, Lace Up Promotions boss Amer Abdallah updated fans on Jackson’s condition. According to Abdallah, the fighter is OK.
“I spoke with Jay Jackson yesterday and he’s in great spirits and more importantly, healthy. He kept thanking me for having him on the event & for the opportunity to fight Joe Taylor. I’d love to have him back on a future card, he’s a class act & true warrior. Special thanks to our Ringside Physician Dr Strut, EMT’s and the Lockport Hospital for their immediate and swift actions which were essential factors to his recovery,” Abdallah wrote in a statement released on Facebook.
