Promoter TNA Fights released a list of the fighters who have advanced to the next round of the 2019 Tatneft Cup.
Eight fighters each in the – 70 kg, – 80 kg, and + 80 kg weight categories are competing for the tournament titles.
The -70 kg field looks very promising. Top young prospects Vadim Vaskov and Zhora Akopyan are in the quarterfinals. Ilyas Boukyoua of Team Aerts also qualified, and Maxim Sulgin was impressive in his qualifying match last week.
In the -80 kg weight category, two-time champion Sher Mamazulunov seeks his third championship . A well-known name among the quarter finalists at 80 kg is veteran Yury Bessmertny of Belarus.
Bessmertny has competed for Bellator Kickboxing, GLORY, KOK, and other top organizations.
The heavyweight field include Mike’s Gym fighter Gokhan Gedik, former DSF champion Piotr Romankevich, and ISKA champ Yegis “The Armenian Lion” Yegoian.
Match-ups for the next event are yet to be announced.
