Promoter TNA Fights released the fight card for the upcoming Tatneft Cup event taking place on 19 July in the city of Kazan in the Russian Federation.
It’s the next round of the tournament, with the qualifying phase completed.
Ilyas Boukyoua, a Moroccan-Dutch fighter who trains under K-1 legend Peter Aerts, meets Ivan Kondratiev in a 70 kg match up. Boukyoua defeated Yannis Boukis of Greece by extra-round decision in February to advance. Kondratiev was a semifinalist in last year’s tournament, and knocked down Rafal Kosiarski three times in his last bout in May.
In the other 70 kg match up, China’s Li Xiaolong meets Zhora Akopyan of Armenia.
Veteran Yury Bessmertny of Belarus returns against Russia’s Sergey Ponomarev.
Italian heavyweight Claudio Istrate demolished Costin Mincu of Romania in one round in his first Cup bout this year. Istrate faces Valery Bizyaev, who scored a late knockdown to defeat France’s Florent Kaouachi in his qualification match last month.
Here is the fight card.
Tatneft Cup bouts are contested under rules of the TNA organization.
If neither fighter scores an eight count or knockdown on his opponent during the three rounds, the bout automatically goes to an extra round. A fighter who inflicts a knockdown or eight-count on his opponent (and not knocked down himself) is the automatic winner after the three rounds or extra round.
