KOK champion Sergej “KUVALDA” Maslobojev was named the top martial artist in his native Lithuania by the Lithuanian Martial Arts Union (LKMS). The announcement appeared on the lrytas.lt website yesterday, and was posted by the organization.
Maslobojev had an outstanding 2018. The KOK 93 kg champion defeated Rafael De Souza Xavier and Noureddine Ajnaou in non-title bouts, and also went undefeated in Super Series bouts in the ONE Championship promotion. Maslobojev defeated Florent Kaouachi in July by unanimous decision. Earlier in the year, the Lithuanian fighter defeated K-1 champion Antonio Plazibat. MMA fighter Tomas Pakutinskas was rated second by the LKMS.
Henrikas Vikraitis, a Sparta Gym teammate of Maslobojev and top KOK contender in the 71 kg weight category, was rated number four. Muay Thai fighter Sigitas Gaizauskas was fifth.
