Ardalan Sheikholeslami is banking on his experience when he faces Enfusion champion Tayfun Ozcan at Enfusion 71 Saturday in Sheikholeslami’s hometown of Hamburg, Germany.
“The fight with Tayfun will be a very special fight. I will show that age is just a number,” Sheikholeslami said in an interview with the Enfusion YouTube channel.
“Due to my years of experience, I have the advantage to win this fight.”
Ozcan, the Enfusion 72.5 kg champion, is considered one of the world’s best pound for pound fighters. He dismantled K-1 legend Andy Souwer in thrilling fashion earlier in the year, and holds wins over a number of top fighters, including Mohamed Jaraya, Nordin Ben Moh, Davit Kiria, and current Enfusion 75 kg champion Aziz Kallah.
Sheikholeslami previously challenged Andy Souwer in Enfusion. He showed toughness and determination before he finally relented in the fourth round. A win over Ozcan would be a career defining moment for the tough Iranian.
“Tayfun is a very good fighter. I do respect him,” Sheikholeslami said.
“He is a very intelligent fighter, however so am I.”
