Moldovan fighter Constantin Rusu won his third title in less than a year Saturday.
Rusu defeated Ricardo Fernandes of Portugal at the Fighting Championship Events gala in Lisbon to win the WKL 75 kg K-1 Rules Title.
Rusu won the KOK organization’s welterweight championship in October with a five-round unanimous decision against Aleksejs Marizihins of Latvia.
In March, he won the FEA Welterweight Title with an impressive victory in the four-man tournament. The Lion Muay Thai fighter stopped Alan Scheinson and Dorel Cristian.
Rusu is expected to defend his KOK title sometime this year. Former champion Zaur Dzhavadov remains the top ranked contender, with Sweden’s Constantino Nanga ranked second in the 77 kg category.
Rusu’s countrymen Martin Vetrila and Radu Copaceanu also won their bouts at the FCE gala.
In another result, Portugal’s Fabio Reis defeated Alex Rodriguez of Spain by decision.
