During Saturday’s broadcast of the KOK World Series 2019 in Germany, it was announced top Moldovan fighter Constantin Rusu was stripped of the KOK World Welterweight Title.
Rusu, also a champion in the WKL (World Kickboxing League) and FEA (Fighting & Entertainment Association), hasn’t defended the title since winning the vacant crown in October 2018 against Aleksejs Marizihins in Riga.
The KOK organization requires a champion to defend their title once each year.
Chico Kwasi of the Netherlands won the four-man welterweight GP at Saturday’s event in Germany. The 20-year-old Mike’s Gym fighter could be in line for a shot at the vacant title.
Top contenders include Constantino Nanga of Sweden, who won a four-man welterweight tournament last year, along with Marizihins.
Rusu is scheduled for action this Saturday at the FEA GP Chisinau event in Moldova.
