During Monday’s GLORY 57 press conference at the Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen in Shenzhen, China, the Chinese announcer spoke briefly with both GLORY Lightweight champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and top contender Marat Grigorian. The two lightweights, who have won top honors in a number of organizations, will face off for the fourth time at GLORY 57 on August 25 for the lightweight crown. Sitthichai has won all three of their previous bouts by decision. However, only one was a unanimous decision-the other two wins were majority and split decisions showing that Grigorian was quite competitive.
The announcer asked Sitthichai if he thought he could win and also asked him why?
“He’s quite prepared for the fight,” said Sitthichai’s interpreter. “This is the fourth fight with Marat. He will know all his tactic. So he is sure he will fight and he will win this fight. He feels it’s the first time for him to fight in GLORY in China. He will be happy to fight more.”
Marat was asked whether he thought he could win.
“Yes, of course,” he said. “It’s already past-the last fights with Sitthichai. Now it’s time for new opportunity for me. So August 25 be ready because it’s gonna be a history fight, and for sure it’s gonna be a great event. Thank you.”
