Pereira Signs New GLORY Contract

Pereira Celebrating Win

In recent months, there has been speculation about whether GLORY Middleweight Champion Alex “Poatan” Pereira would remain with the organization.

The Brazilian fighter had teased a switch to MMA competition last year in a since-deleted Instagram post. In November, Pereira told an MMA website he received offers from two big MMA promotions, and he planned to leave GLORY when his contract expired “if Glory doesn’t let me go”.

Pereira has since had a change of heart.

The fighter posted on Instagram yesterday a video of himself signing what appears to be a new contract with GLORY, with some of his championship belts sitting on the table. “Very happy with my new contract. can’t wait to get busy,” the fighter wrote.

Pereira has been the organization’s middleweight champion since October 2017. He’s successfully defended the title three times, including a spectacular first-round knockout of top contender Yousri Belgaroui at GLORY 55 last summer.
