Enfusion held a press conference Sunday to publicize the October 27 “Enfusion Belt Night” event in Oberhausen, Germany. It’s one of the biggest kickboxing shows of the year. Artur Kyshenko is scheduled to face Ibrahim El Boustati, Tayfun Ozcan will compete in a non-title bout, and there are three title bouts scheduled, including a 75 kg title bout between champion Aziz Kallah of Morocco and young phenom Endy “Bad News” Semeleer.
Semeleer was asked by a journalist when can we see him face Tayfun Ozcan in a match? The two young fighters seem to be on a collision course. Semeleer won the 2017 Abu Dhabi eight man tournament, defeating Superbon in the finals. This year, the young star has beaten Redouan Laarkoubi, Nordin Ben Moh, and Paul Jansen. Ozcan has looked invincible in recent bouts, defeating K-1 legend Andy Souwer, Mohamed Khamal, and Ardalan Sheikholeslami, all by stoppage.
“I don’t care,“ Semeleer said with a laugh. “I want (to) fight him. Don’t matter when. Get me him tomorrow. Yesterday. I don’t care. I want to fight him. It’s not about me. I say it a lot of time. I want to fight him. You need to ask somebody like (Enfusion CEO) Edwin Van Os.”
Van Os was given the microphone and addressed a possible Ozcan-Semeleer bout, speaking to Endy.
“That really depends of our co-promoters, of course,” Van Os said. “A lot of people are asking me for that fight. Tayfun, is for the moment, fully booked, but you’re both both under my management. So for me, it’s no problem.”
“As soon as the first promoter from Enfusion comes, wants to do that fight, I’ll be happy to support it. Me as a fan of kickboxing, I’m really looking forward to it.”
“But anyway it’s not this year because you know you’re fully booked. But maybe, begin 2019, and hopefully as soon as possible. Only thing is maybe that Tayfun might move to 70 (kg), and you to 75 (kg). But if you can find something in the middle, like 72 ½, maybe it’s possible and I think it’s one of the greatest fights possible at the moment.”
