GLORY Lightweight Champion Sitthichai “The Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong has dominated the organization’s lightweight division since his 2015 debut.

Sitthichai has gone 11-1 in competition for the organization. His only defeat was to Robin van Roosmalen by controversial decision, a loss he avenged seven months later.

Sitsongpeenong has successfully defended the title six times since winning the crown in 2016 from van Roosmalen, and dominated many of his challengers.

Fans have grumbled about the lack of opposition for the Thai maestro. His upcoming bout with Marat Grigorian at GLORY 65 will be the fifth time he’s faced the Armenian, and Sitthichai is 4-0 against the challenger.

There’s one elite level 70 kg fighter Sitthichai hasn’t beaten, and that’s Tayfun “Turkish Turbine” Ozcan.

Ozcan fights for the rival Enfusion organization, where he holds the Enfusion title in the 72.5 kg weight category. He’s dominated his opposition in recent years, knocking out Andy Souwer and Mohamed Khamal, and he was the clear winner in a battle of champions with 75 kg titlist Endy Semeleer.

Responding to a social media post by writer K-1 Anoop, Ozcan says Glory knows he is a danger to their fighters and the man to dethrone Sitthichai.

It may be a tough fight to make with the two champions fighting for rival organizations, but it would be a huge fight in terms of appeal between two of the very best in the world.

“They know i am danger to everyone in the lightweight division. I am the man to beat Sittichai mark my words”
