Top Lithuanian fighter Sergej “Kuvalda” Maslobojev has an opponent for KOK’s return to the Baltic nation on Saturday November 17. Maslobojev will face Fatih Mehmet Karakus in a bout scheduled for three rounds under KOK rules in the 93 kg weight category.
It’s Maslobojev’s first KOK bout since March. The fighter competed in the One Super Series in May and July, defeating K-1 champion Antonio Plazibat and French fighter Florent Kaouachi by unanimous decision. Against Kaouachi, Maslobojev overcame low blows from his opponent, and knocked the French fighter down twice in earning the win. Karakus, 21, is a young Turkish fighter who’s competed in both kickboxing and pro boxing. A win over an established fighter like Maslobojev could do wonders for the Turk’s career.
The November 17 fight card in Vilnius will be the first of two KOK shows scheduled for November. On November 29, the promotion makes its Spain debut with an event in Valencia, presented in collaboration with Mix Fight Events.
The next KOK event, KOK 61, takes place next Saturday October 27 in Riga, Latvia. KOK 77 kg champion Zaur Dzhavadov defends his crown before a hometown crowd against Moldovan contender Constantin Rusu.
