Singapore-based MMA promotion One Championship, which has expanded into kickboxing and Muay Thai with its One Super Series, released a statement today that last weekend’s One: Kingdom of Heroes event drew “over 25 million viewers” across various platforms including YouTube, Twitter, and television.
One: Kingdom of Heroes took place in Bangkok, and featured a WBC Boxing title fight between Thai superstar Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and challenger Iran Diaz. There were also MMA bouts on the show, and One Super Series bouts featuring a number of Muay Thai champions. Dutch legend Andy Souwer also competed on the card.
According to the statement, the event was a big hit with Thai tv viewers, generating “a record-breaking peak TV ratings share of 58.5% in Thailand”.
The announcement continues a week of good news for the organization. Earlier in the week, the organization announced it secured additional financing, and Dutch kickboxing star Nieky Holzken announced he is signing with One Championship.
The next One Championship event takes place on Friday 26 October in Yangon, Myanmar and will be broadcast live and free on the One Super App.
