Dutch kickboxing star Nieky Holzken is signing a contract with the One Championship organization.
The former Glory champion and longtime star made the announcement on Dutch radio station Radio Veronica today.
Holzken joins fellow Dutch star Andy “Souwer Power” Souwer on the One Championship roster, as the Singapore-based organization continues to sign top kickboxers and Muay Thai fighters to compete in the One Super Series. One Super Series bouts are held under kickboxing or Muay Thai rules and take place either in a ring or a cage. Some of the bouts use MMA gloves instead of kickboxing gloves.
Holzken last competed for Glory in December, when he lost a decision to Alim Nabiyev. Recently, “The Natural” has focused on his professional boxing career. Holzken participated as a substitute in the prestigious World Boxing Super Series tournament, losing a decision to eventual tournament winner Callum Smith.
Holzken is well-known in the Netherlands, not only for fighting but his reality show, which was featured on the RTL network. He has had a long and successful career in kickboxing, and was once a part of the Golden Glory team but now owns his own gym in the city of Helmond.
Holzken announced on his Instagram page in July that he rejected a new contract offer from Glory.
No word on when Holzken will make his One Super Series debut.
