Kickboxing News and Notes: Feb 2 Weekend Preview

This weekend’s biggest show takes place in China. Kunlun Fight 69 goes down Sunday in Guiyang. Former K-1 Max GP champion Buakaw Banchamek headlines against Congolese fighter Nayanesh Ayman. and the semifinals and finals of the 70kg tournament take place. It’s a huge show with fighters from China, Europe, Japan and Africa competing. You can order the pay per view from Fite for $7.99 or through the Kunlun website. The action starts at 1 am EST (10 pm Saturday night on the West Coast).

DSF 13 in Warsaw Poland
DSF Kickboxing Challenge 13 takes place Saturday in Wroclaw, Poland and will be streamed free of charge on Bosnia’s Dzevad Poturak, a veteran who competed in K-1 and Superkombat, rematches Michał Turyński of Poland for a WAKO title. There are two other title fights on the show, and the undecard features some matches between Polish and Czech Republic fighters. The event is scheduled to begin at 8pm CET, which is 2pm on the East Coast of the United States, and 11am PST. You can visit the DSF Challenge website for more information.

XFN 346 will have both kickboxing and MMA fights on the card. The venue is the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The action will be streamed free on Fite TV Friday night and starts at 9pm EST/6pm PST.

Muay Thai round up
Lion Fights 40 takes place at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT. There are two world title fights, and a North American championship bout on the card. Muay thai rules. If you are on the East Coast and interested in attending, tickets can be purchased at the Foxwoods Resorts Casino website and range in price from $55-95 (plus fees). There is no stream or TV for this event.

Dennis Warner’s WCK Muay Thai will have an amateur show Saturday night at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center in Burbank, CA. Tickets range from $40-$75 and can be purchased on the WCK Muay Thai website.
