van Roosmalen Confident of Defeating VanNostrand March 31 at Glory 53
Glory featherweight champion Robin van Roosmalen is confident of his chances heading into his GLORY 53 unification bout with interim featherweight champion Kevin VanNostrand. The Netherlands based veteran thinks his experience and pedigree will be too much for the New York upstart.

“I rate his chances 00.1 percent,” he said, speaking to the GLORY YouTube channel. “It’s because he’s never fought a guy like me. His professional fights are as much as my GLORY fights. He’s an awkward fighter and that’s it.”

There are big gaps in experience and quality of opposition. van Roosmalen has faced some of the world’s best lightweights and featherweights since bursting on the scene by winning the Its Showtime “Fast and Furious” 70kg tournament in 2011. The Dutch fighter is 15-3 in GLORY, and the only fighter in the promotion’s short history to capture titles in two weight divisions. Vannostrand meanwhile is 17-1 overall (5-1 GLORY) but hasn’t beaten anyone ranked higher than number five. The New Yorker is known for an attacking, unorthodox style with plenty of knees, spin kicks, and back fists, but van Roosmalen isn’t overly concerned

“I think his style is awkward, but it’s a scared style. I think the first round he can be dangerous so I always have to look out. I don’t underestimate him. I think it’s not gonna pass across the three rounds.”

Grigorian Honored in Armenia
GLORY welterweight champion Harut Grigorian was honored by his native Armenia’s kickboxing federation. Grigorian won the title last month with a stunning upset over Murthel Groenhart by first round stoppage. His next challenger will probably be Azerbaijan’s Alim Nabiyev, who beat former champion Cedric Doumbe on points Saturday to secure a title shot.

Just arrived at my beautiful country Armenia where the Armenian Kickboxing Federation welcomed me with a lot of respect and pride.. #family #friends #welterweight #worldchampion #77kg #kickboxing #boxing #knockout #power #sport #glory #gloryworldseries #hemmersgym #motivation #motivated #grind #success #hardwork #team #armenia #antwerp #belgium #insta #fight #respect #pride
