Phoenix Fighting Championship heads to Thailand for big Muay Thai show

Phoenix Fighting Championship, the Lebanon based promotion that promotes both Muay Thai and MMA matches, announced last week they are heading to the ancestral home of  Muay Thai. The promotion will hold an event on Monday February 26 in Bangkok, Thailand. Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium hosts the action.

After holding their first two events in Lebanon, Phoenix Fighting Championship promoted events in London and Dubai last year. Some notable names in the Muay Thai world competed, including legends Buakaw Banchamek and Saenchai. Antonina Shevchenko is a Phoenix champion. She’s the sister of UFC contender Valentina Shevchenko, and Antonina  competes in both Muay Thai and MMA.

Phoenix Fighting Championship hasn’t announced the entire card yet. But here are some of the match ups and fighters slated to appear at Phoenix FC 5 in Bangkok:

Youssef Boughanem v. Noppakaw Siriluck (for the Phoenix, Rajadamnern Stadium, and WBC world title)
Yassine Bou Ghanem v. Steven “The Panda” Banks (for the Phoenix Championship and WBC World Heayweight title)
Seksan Or Kwanmuang vs. Yoklepeth Or Atchariya.
Mohamed Souane v. Singsuriya Mor Rattanabandit

Other match ups are listed on the promotion’s Instagram page. The card appears to be all Muay Thai matches, unlike the previous events in the U.K. and Lebanon which featured MMA bouts as well. Phoenix FC 5 is scheduled to be broadcast on a pay per view stream at Fite TV with a listed price of $14.99
