News & Notes: Lion Fight Announces UK and U.S. Events

Lion Fight Heading Back to U.K
Last week Lion Fight announced they are returning to the United Kingdom for Lion Fight 41 on April 7. The Las Vegas based promotion will be working with their U.K. based partner Muay Thai Grand Prix for the event, which will be held at the Indigo at the O2 Arena in London. That’s not all. Lion Fight also announced their intentions to return to the United Kingdom and Europe for more shows in the near future.

“Our first event back in November (MTGP Presents Lion Fight 39) was such an overwhelming success in every aspect that both organizations wanted to get rolling on more co-promotions. Not only is Lion Fight 41 going to be a partnership with MTGP, but plans are firmly in place for Lion Fight 43 and Lion Fight 47 to be in the United Kingdom and Europe,” Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent said in the press release.

Lion Fight 42 April 21 in Connecticut
While Lion Fight 41 and 43 are in the UK, Lion Fight 42 will be back on familiar territory. Kent and company head back to the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT for the April 21 card, which will be headlined by the talented Antonina Shevchenko against Claire Baxter for the promotion’s Women’s Super Lightweight Title.

Here is the Lion Fight 42 card. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday March 2, and can be purchased at the Foxwoods Casino website.

  • Antonina “The Panther” Shevchenko vs. Claire Baxter – Lion Fight Women’s Super Lightweight Title
  • Steve “Put Em To Sleep” Walker vs. Olivier Fairtex – Lion Fight North American Super Cruiserweight Title
  • Carlton Lieu vs. Jafar “The Cookie Monster” Toshev – MTGP World Super Lightweight Title
  • Eric Rocha vs. Chris Mauceri – Welterweight
  • Ricardo Mixco vs. Evan Jays – Featherweight

Still no news of a new broadcast deal. Lion Fight previously broadcast their events live as part of the AXS TV “Friday Night Fights” Series.
