News & Notes: ACB KB, Zabit Samedov, Bellator Kickboxing

ACB Kickboxing Announces Doping Controls for April 20 Event
ACB Kickboxing announced over the weekend the promotion will randomly drug test fighters at the ACB KB 15 event scheduled for April 20 in Moscow. Fighters who test positive for prohibited substances will be banned from competing in future ACB KB events. The promotion already randomly tested three pairs of fighters at their March event in Orel, Russia, and fighters at future events will also be randomly tested.

It’s a great move by ACB. The topic of kickboxers using PEDs has been a hot topic for years, and let’s hope other promotions follow suit and start random drug testing and suspending fighters who test positive for performance enhancing substances.

Zabit Samedov Returns May 30 at KOK
Zabit Samedov announced he will face veteran Freddy Kemayo at the KOK event in Moscow on May 30. Samedov hasn’t fought this year, and it was presumed he would face James McSweeney at the next Mix Fight Championship event. Kemayo lost a decision to Igor Bugaenko at the ACB KB 13 event in Paris in February. Samedov, who has competed in K-1, Legend, and other top organizations, is still considered one of the best heavyweights in the world.
