Lightweight contender Mindaugas Narauskas has challenged reigning KOK World Lightweight Champion Henrikas Viksraitis to a match at the KOK World Series event taking place on 21 September in Kaunas, Lithuania. The challenge was made public Friday.
Fighting out of the Titanas Gym, Narauskas is currently the the third-ranked lightweight (71 kg) in the KOK organization. He previously faced fellow Lithuanian Viksraitis in a lightweight tournament final held at KOK 51 in Vilnius in November 2017.
Viksraitis knocked down Narauskas in the second round en route to a decision victory. Viksraitis, representing the Sparta Gym, captured the KOK Lightweight Title in March with a close decision victory over Vitalie Matei of Moldova.
Since their first bout, Narauskas has won three consecutive bouts in KOK competition. He defeated Spain’s Boum Lambarki by stoppage, and won decisions against Poland’s Tomasz Zamyslowski and Mikhail Supredka of Belarus.
The September event in Kaunas marks the beginning of KOK’s fall season. The promotion already has events scheduled for Riga, Latvia in October, and Slovakia and Vilnius in November. At the end of November, KOK makes its return to Germany, with an event at the Yayla Arena in Krefeld on 30 November.
