Morosanu Gains Revenge at Dynamite Fighting Show 4

Romanian superstar Catalin “Carpathian Death” Morosanu avenged a disputed decision loss to Britain’s Daniel Sam with a three-round unanimous points victory Thursday in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

The heavyweight contest headlined the Dynamite Fighting Show 4 gala.

It was a fight that had its share of knockdowns (video below). Moro was given an eight-count by referee Cesar after Sam landed a nasty knee to the body.

The Romanian returned the favor, as he knocked down the bigger Sam with a punch early in round two.

Morosanu knocked down Sam twice in the final round. A combination of punches punctuated by a body shot felled Sam, and he was knocked down again by a body kick.

Sam previously defeated Morosanu by split decision at the Superkombat gala in Puerto Rico in 2016. Many Romanian fans questioned the decision because Morosanu had a higher workrate and was the aggressor in the first match.

Today’s win evened the slate between the two heavyweight warriors.

“Big shout out to Morosanu. He’s a hell of a warrior,” Sam said in his post fight speech to the crowd.

Morosanu told the crowd it was his last fight in Romania (translated).

In another featured bout, Bogdan Nastase defeated Manuel Rifa on points.

Glory fighter Benjamin Adegbuyi won his pro boxing match also.
