Former KOK Lightweight champion Vitalie Matei will face Baris Guzel of Turkey on the 30th of March at the FEA vol. 28 event in Chisinau, Moldova. The promotion announced the match on its website.
Matei fought last weekend at the huge KOK 69 event in Vilnius, Lithuania where he lost his title by controversial split decision to challenger Henrikas Viksraitis. Although two judges scored the fight for the Lithuanian challenger, some fans and experts thought Matei deserved the decision.
The Moldovan connected with some good punches to the head and body, and since there were no knockdowns or point deductions, some observers gave him the advantage after the five round championship distance.
Matei will get a chance to fight for the FEA organization’s own 71 kg title, as the promotion said it will hold a -71 kg Grand Prix event this year.
