Ivan Kondratiev defeated Dmitry Arbuzov in a Russian 75 kg Title match held Sunday in St Petersburg.
Kondratiev, a Tatneft Cup and ACB KB veteran, was extended the five round distance by Arbuzov, but prevailed by unanimous decision.
The Kondratiev-Arbuzov title fight was part of a martial arts festival held at the brand-new M-1 Arena.
Kondratiev was a semifinalist in the 2018 Tatneft Cup in the -70 kg weight category, losing to tournament runner-up Vladislav Ukrainets.
The fighter recently told the Match TV channel he planned to apply for this year’s Tatneft Cup, which begins on 21 February in Kazan, Russia.
