Sergej “Sledgehammer” Maslobojev will face Britain’s Fraser Weightman in a non-title bout at KOK 69 on 16 March in Vilnius, Lithuania, the promotion announced today.
Maslobojev is the organization’s reigning -93 kg champion, and considered one of the world’s best light heavyweights with consecutive victories in the prestigious ONE Super Series.
The bout will be a non-title contest fought under KOK rules and scheduled for three rounds. Maslobojev is scheduled to defend his title later in the year at another KOK event, according to an interview between the KOK president and the FightBox website.
Weightman is known as a high-level British fighter, and fought at the GLORY event in Birmingham, UK last summer. He recently scored a first-round TKO victory over Shaun Forde of Wales at the Road to Glory 3 event in Britain. As of January 1, Weightman is ranked second in the U.K. in the 95 kg weight category, and number six in the +95 kg division.
