Lion Fights Update
The bad news is there is no TV for this Saturday night’s Lion Fight Promotions card from Connecticut, but there is a chance the show may be streamed, according to a promotion rep. Lion Fights 40 features two world title fights, and there’s also a North American belt on the line.
Here is the tentative main fight card (Muay Thai rules)
Chip Moraza-Pollard(6-0) v. Slava Alexeichik (30-8) (Main Event-Cruiserweight World Title)
“Mr. Lightning” Lerdsila PhuketTopTeam (194-31-5) vs. Alexi “Phet” Serepisos (40-10) – Lightweight World Title
Brett Hlavacek (18-5) vs. Elijah “Mr. Mayor” Clarke (7-1) – North American Light Heavyweight Title
Steve “Put Em To Sleep” Walker (2-0) vs. Cole Fetzner (1-0) – Super Cruiserweight
Cris “Golden Leg” Mims (1-0) vs. PJ Sweda (2-2) – Middleweight
“The Don” Julio Pena (4-1) vs. Isaac Tijerina (1-1) – Lightweight

Three pro prelims and also three amateur prelims were slated to take place. Hopefully, there will be a broadcasting outlet so fans can catch the action. Lion Fight is one of the top Muay Thai promoters in the U.S., and was honored by the WBC  for their top notch events.

More Glory winners announced
Glory announced 2 more of their 2017 award winners. Elvis Gashi earned Upset of the Year honors for his second round demolition of Josh Jauncey last June at Glory 43. Gashi dropped Jauncey three times in the second round to halt the respected Canadian. Gashi went on to beat Nate Richardson by decision last December at Glory 48. The Kosovo-born Gashi is listed as 20-0 as a pro.

Kevin VanNostrand won Comeback of the Year for his win over Avnar Boynazarov. VanNostrand was dropped in the first round, but got up and stopped Boynazarov with a knee to the body to win their featherweight contest at Glory 48.
