News: Enfusion, WAKO Grand Prix, Japan Update

Title Fight Added to Enfusion Antwerp Event

Belgian promoter Antwerp Fight Organisation announced a title fight has been added to the Enfusion gala taking place on 2 November at the Lotto Arena in Belgium.

Reigning Enfusion 63 kg World Champion Soufiane Kaddouri will defend his belt against contender Hamza Essalih in an all-Moroccan battle.

Kaddouri is coming off a successful title defense in February when he stopped Andrej Bruhl in the third round with a spinning back kick. The hard-hitting Kaddouri also competed in last year’s KLF 66 kg World Championship, where he advanced to the semifinals but lost a decision to Gu Hui.

Essalih, currently number-two in the Enfusion rankings, defeated Bruhl on points in May in Germany. He also scored a victory over Lofogo “King Shaka” Sarour at the Enfusion Eindhoven gala in February.

Japan Update

Two notable fight cards are taking place next Monday September 16 in Japan with both RISE and K-1 Krush holding events.

The RISE World Series: Final Round features the finals of the organization’s -58 and -61 kg tournaments, and will be streaming live internationally on Fite TV (pay-per-view).

Japanese kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa meets ISKA champion Shiro in the final of the -58 kg tournament.

The -61 kg tournament final features Taiju Shiratori against Genji Umeno.

In addition to the tournament finals, a number of super fights are also scheduled.

Veteran announcer Stewart Fulton will call the action on the Fite TV broadcast.

K-1 Krush 105 will also be taking place, with the main event a rematch in the -60 kg weight category between Leona Pettas and Kuruma Saikyo. Pettas is currently on a five-fight winning streak in K-1 Krush competition, including a three-round unanimous decision win over Saikyo last year.

WAKO K-1 World Grand Prix: Hron vs Shatalov

The WAKO K-1 World Grand Prix 2019 tournament takes place from 26-28 September in Prague, Czech Republic. It’s a huge amateur event sanctioned by WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations), with fighters from different countries taking part.

A professional world title fight was announced for the event today.

Czech veteran Tomas “Rattlesnake” Hron will meet Russian champion Danil Shatalov in a WAKO Pro K-1 Rules World Title fight.

Hron, an It’s Showtime and Glory veteran, defeated France’s Coulibaly Abderahmane via fourth-round high kick KO at the Yangames Fight Night event held in July.

Shatalov competed in the DSF Challenge Heavyweight Tournament earlier this year in Poland. He won his quarterfinal bout against Czech Georgij Fibich and was announced for the semifinal round in June, but the tournament was cancelled.
