K-1 fans will remember Kyotaro Fujimoto, the onetime K-1 Heavyweight Champion (-100 KG) who once knocked out Melvin Manhoef, and battled legends Peter Aerts, Semmy Schilt, and Jerome Le Banner.
After K-1 began restructuring, Kyotaro moved on to professional boxing where he’s done quite well. Fujimoto is the Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation Heavyweight Champion, and holds a record of 21-1 (13 KOs) according to boxrec.
He’ll face a major test in his next bout. Boxing news site Fight News reported today Kyotaro will face unbeaten British heavyweight prospect Daniel “DDD” Dubois (13-0, 12 KOs) for the WBC Silver Heavyweight Title on 21 December at the Copper Box Arena in London. Dubois is considered Britain’s top prospect at heavyweight and a future contender, and the 22-year-old has already won British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Titles.
