Heavyweight contender Guto Inocente will return to the ring in his native Brazil at the WGP 55 event taking place on 15 June in Brasilia, the promotion announced Thursday.
Inocente will defend his WGP Super Heavyweight Title (+94.1 kg) against challenger Francisco Xhaja.
It’s a homecoming for the 32-year-old. The bout will be Inocente’s first kickboxing match in Brazil since 2016.
Guto won multiple WGP titles before he left to compete for GLORY, where he challenged for the GLORY Heavyweight Title. Inocente lost a unanimous decision to current champion Rico Verhoeven at GLORY 59 last September.
Inocente has a 7-3 record in GLORY competition. He’s recently been removed from the GLORY heavyweight rankings however.
