Holzken, Eersel Victorious at ONE: Call to Greatness

Former world champion Nieky Holzken remained unbeaten in ONE Super Series competition with a unanimous decision over Mustapha Haida Friday in Singapore. The kickboxing-rules bout was part of the ONE: Call to Greatness fight card held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Holzken is now 2-0 in the ONE Super Series since signing with ONE Championship last year. In his previous bout, the former GLORY champion knocked out Cosmo Alexandre of Brazil.

Fellow Dutch fighter Regan Eersel, the reigning Lion Fight Muay Thai champion, also won his kickboxing bout. Eersel dispatched of former UFC fighter Anthony Njoukani with a crushing combination in the second round. It was the Super Series debut for Eersel. Njokuani is now 1-1 in the ONE organization-the Nigerian fighter upset Andy Souwer by close decision last year.

In other kickboxing bouts, Zhang Chenglong defeated Kong Sambo by split decision, and Petchdam stopped Masahide Kudo in the second round.

Stamp Wins Second Title

ONE: Call to Greatness was headlined by a women’s title bout for the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship.

Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex won the title with a unanimous decision over Janet Todd of the United States.

Fairtex is now a two-time champion in the ONE organization. She also holds the league’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship. Fairtex won that title by defeating Kai Ting Chuang of China last year in Bangkok.
