Glory Head of Talent Operations Cor Hemmers was pleased with Saturday’s Glory 59 event. The blockbuster event, which featured two title fights and some of the biggest names in the sport, drew over 12,000 fans to the Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena. It was the first kickboxing show held at the famed arena since the days of It’s Showtime, and an enthusiastic crowd turned out to witness the event.
“Well, I think after eight years being back in the Johan Cruijff Arena, it’s amazing, it’s history,” Hemmers said, speaking to Glory’s Youtube channel.
“After the down of K-1, it was a little bit down everything, in the sport in kickboxing. But now we are back. Glory brought it back. So I’m very proud.”
“The crowd was very enthusiastic, and I think the fights were really great. What can I say? I think it’s one big success. For Glory, but also for the sport. I’m proud and happy.”
