“Road to Glory 2” tournament champion Giannis “Greekboy” Skordilis will return to the ring at the Muay Thai Grand Prix event on April 6 in London. Skordilis made the announcement on social media today.
Skordilis is the top ranked male fighter at 70 kg under K-1 rules in the United Kingdom. In October 2017, “Greekboy” earned a two-fight contract with the GLORY organization when he won the Road to Glory 2 tournament. Skordilis defeated Joe Johnson and Alex Bublea by TKO in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, then won a unanimous decision over Sam Omomogbe in the final. A university student, Skordilis was unable to compete at the last GLORY event in England because he was busy with final exams.
Nicola Barke, a Storm Gym teammate of Skordilis, is also scheduled for action at the MTGP event. Barke had an impressive campaign in 2018. The kickboxing banker won a four-woman tournament to earn a China fight contract at SFS VI in June. In September, Barke captured her first title with a unanimous verdict against Claire Clements for the WKO British K-1 rules title.
Muay Thai Grand Prix (MTGP) is one of Britain’s leading promotions, and recently announced its shows will be streamed on UFC Fight Pass beginning in April.
