Glory heavyweight king Rico Verhoeven will make his “feature film lead debut” in an action movie scheduled to start filming in Europe next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Verhoeven, who has held the GLORY Heavyweight Championship since 2014, will have a lead role in a movie named The Black Lotus. The film is an action-revenge film, with Verhoeven cast in the role of “an ex-military operative on a revenge mission to save the woman he loves”.
The Dutch heavyweight has previous actor credits for a role in the film Kickboxer: Retaliation and Dutch television appearances. A star in his native Netherlands, Verhoeven has appeared on late night television programs and other TV shows.
Verhoeven’s last kickboxing bout was at Glory 59 in September, when the longtime champion successfully defended his title with a unanimous decision over Guto Inocente.
