GLORY Kickboxing announced Tuesday that the promotion has a new television partner in the Netherlands. GLORY has entered into a multi-year contract with Veronica, “a free-to-air commercial channel”, which will make GLORY events and programming more accessible to viewers in the Netherlands. Veronica is a channel that features movies, popular TV shows, and also broadcasts UEFA Champions League matches and the Netherlands national soccer team games. GLORY was being broadcast previously on Ziggo Sport, a pay sports channel.

Veronica will broadcast both GLORY numbered events and the GLORY Superfight Series. The channel will also broadcast older GLORY events and other GLORY programming in an allocated time slot, which means that fans will have a regular time to tune in and watch GLORY programming in addition to the new events taking place. The new agreement starts with GLORY 55 and GLORY 55 Superfight Series, which take place on Friday July 20 at the Hulu Theatre in New York.

“With Veronica’s nationwide reach, fans in the Netherlands will have access to GLORY content – and their favorite Dutch stars – like never before,” said GLORY CEO Marshall Zelaznik in the press release. “We’re extremely excited about Veronica’s commitment in partnering with us to further solidify GLORY as the Netherlands’ top combat sports property.”

“GLORY continues to grow globally, staging bigger and better events worldwide each year,” he said. “Securing broadcast deals that showcase our roster of the world’s best strikers, especially in their home countries, is critical to that growth.”

GLORY 60 Set for Lyon, France October 20
In other GLORY news, the promotion announced today it will return to Lyon, France on October 20 for GLORY 60. It’s the second event being held in France this year. GLORY 53 took place on May 12 in Lille. It will be the 11th GLORY show of 2018. At the beginning of the year, GLORY mentioned 14 shows for this year, so it’s possible there will be 3 more events total in the months of November and December. If history is any indication, there will be a big Europe show in early December.

The venue for GLORY 60 is the Palais des Sports de Gerland. No fight announcements were made in the press release, but expect announcements “in the coming weeks”.
