GLORY 58 has been moved up a day to Friday September 14, Glory Kickboxing announced today. GLORY 58 was originally scheduled for Saturday September 15.
The venue remains the same-GLORY 58 will still take place at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Top ranked heavyweight Benjamin Adegbuyi of Romania, who has won three contender tournaments, faces number five heavyweight Jahfarr Wilnis. Adegbuyi stopped fellow contenders D’Angelo Marshall and Junior Tafa to win the GLORY 50 heavyweight contender tournament in Chicago in February. Adegbuyi returns to the Windy City looking for another win to set up another shot at the heavyweight title. Adegbuyi recently won a professional boxing match to improve his pro boxing record to 3-0.
The tough Wilnis is coming off an upset win over “The Goliath” Jamal Ben Saddik at GLORY 53. Wilnis has the chance to avenge a previous split decision loss to Adegbuyi that took place at GLORY 24.
Ben Saddik was originally scheduled to face Adegbuyi at GLORY 58. “Big Ben” Saddik will compete on an upcoming GLORY card later this year.
More fights for the GLORY 58 event, including the Superfight Series and Prelims, will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for GLORY 58 go on sale on Friday July 20, and will be available for purchase online at searscentre.com.
