GLORY 55 Update: van Roosmalen Injured, Petchpanomrung faces Vannostrand for Interim FW Belt

GLORY featherweight king Robin van Roosmalen suffered a shoulder injury and will be unable to defend his title at GLORY 55 July 20 in New York, the organization announced today.

van Roosmalen was scheduled to defend his title against number two contender Petchpanomrung. Petchpanomrung will now face third rated Kevin Vannostrand for the interim featherweight title in the co-headline bout at the Hulu Theatre. Vannostrand is a former interim champion who lost a unanimous decision to van Roosmalen for the unified featherweight championship at GLORY 52 in March. The main event pits Brazilian bomber Alex Pereira defending his middleweight championship against number one contender Yousri Belgaroui.

Dutch fighter Massaro Glunder, who was scheduled to face Vannostrand, is still scheduled to see action at the Hulu Theatre. Glory is currently working on securing an opponent for Glunder.

Here is the updated GLORY 55 fight card. The event will air live in the U.S. on ESPNews beginning at 21:30 ET and 18:30 PT.
