Daniel Ghita will return to the ring at the Colosseum Tournament event on September 17 in Romania, it was announced last week. Ghita’s opponent remains to be announced.
Ghita hasn’t competed in kickboxing since he left Glory in 2014. “The Savage Samurai” is active in his native Romania on political issues, and his Facebook page listed his occupation as politician.
The Romanian juggernaut was announced to return at next month’s Enfusion 70 event against Enfusion champion Luis Tavares in Antwerp, Belgium. Enfusion later released a statement in which it announced that Ghita would be pulled from the event. Ghita was later contacted by kickboxing journalist Dave Walsh, and denied a contract existed for him to fight Tavares.
Daniel Ghita is coming back and kickboxing fans around the world can’t wait.
Colosseum also announced that four man tournaments in the 81 and 86 kg weight categories will take place on the event.
