James “The Beast” Wilson, a kickboxer and MMA fighter who competed for the K-1 promotion, has signed a boxing contract with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. Wilson’s public relations team issued a statement published by the Boxing Scene website today.
Wilson burst onto the scene with a spectacular knockout of Doug Sauer at the K-1 USA event held in Los Angeles in September 2012.
He went on to compete for Superkombat, and also had some MMA bouts, including fights for King of the Cage and Bellator.
Wilson started his professional boxing career last year. Thus far, the 32-year-old has compiled a stellar record of 7-0 with 6 KOS, albeit against limited opposition.
