The Fighting and Entertainment Association of Moldova (FEA) returns with its latest event Saturday in Chisinau, the nation’s capital.
Four-man tournaments in the Featherweight (65 kg) and Welterweight (77 kg) divisions are scheduled, as the organization seeks to crown two new champions.
The brackets were announced, and the tournament finals could see the continuation of rivalries between four world-class Moldovan fighters.
Rusu, Cristian in Welterweight Tournament
In the welterweight tournament, KOK World Welterweight Champion Constantin Rusu faces Alan Scheinson in a first round match up. Scheinson hails from Argentina, but has trained in the Netherlands and competed for the GLORY organization.
Scheinson is not an easy opponent, but the Moldovan fighter is tough and always in good condition. He’ll also have the loyal crowd cheering for him.
If Rusu gets past Scheinson, it sets up a potential rematch with Dorel Cristian, his fellow Moldovan and former KOK Lightweight Champion.
Cristian must also beat his opponent, Turkish champion Fikri Arican to set up the rematch.
Rusu and Cristian met in 2018 at the KOK 58 event in Moldova in a good action battle.
Renita Headlines Featherweight Tournament
In the featherweight tournament, Stanislav Renita looks to continue his dominance in the 65 kg weight category. Renita is the KOK Featherweight Champion, and has successfully defended the title twice. If he wins the tournament, he’ll add a FEA title to his collection of championships.
To get there, he may have to get past Dmitrii Sirbu for the fifth time. Sirbu is on the other side of the bracket and faces Francesco Picca, while Renita meets Cristian Spetcu.
Renita holds a 3-1 edge in the rivalry, with the most recent victory at FEA vol. 27 in December.
The fighters hail from rival gyms-just like Rutu and Cristian.
National bragging rights will be on the line, with the winners of both tournaments being recognized as FEA champions and the best in the nation.
