ONE Championship atomweight kickboxing champion Stamp Fairtex and Dutch legend Nieky “The Natural” Holzken will compete in bouts in the ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS event scheduled for February 22 in Singapore.
Fairtex, from Thailand, will face Janet Todd of the United States in a bout for the “ONE Super Series Muay Thai Atomweight World Title”. This is a championship newly established by the organization, and the victor will be the first to hold the belt.
Fairtex captured the ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight belt with a decision win over Kai Ting Chuang of China before a supportive Bangkok crowd last year.
Todd, 33, trains out of the well-regarded Boxing Works Gym in Hermosa Beach, California. The American had a decorated amateur career, winning an IFMA Pan American title and was ranked in the top eight in the 51 kg weight category in 2017. Todd was invited to compete in the 2017 World Games in Wroclaw, Poland and has also competed for other amateur titles.
The two ladies have received top billing for their championship contest, as the Fairtex-Todd bout is the main event of the fight card being held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Holzken, the former GLORY Welterweight Champion, returns to the ONE ring after an impressive knockout debut against Brazilian champion Cosmo Alexandre. The Dutch star faces Mustapha Haida in a lightweight bout to be contested under kickboxing rules.
In another SUPER SERIES contest, Kong Sambo faces Zhang Chenglong in a bantamweight affair, also under kickboxing rules.
ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS also features some MMA bouts.
