Youssef Assouik UD5 Jose Bello-70kg
The lanky Assouik showed a full arsenal against Bello. The Danish fighter landed punches, low kicks, knees, and a head kick on Bello but couldn’t finish off the tough Spaniard. Bello felt Assouik’s power early, and was hit with low kicks throughout the contest. Assouik knocked down Bello with a left high kick in the fourth round. Assouik was cut above the left eye in the second round but his sight wasn’t impaired by the blood. Assouik improves to 45-0-6(21) with the win. Bello is now 27-1-3(7). Bello is one tough hombre.
Saemapetch Fairtex SD3 Nauzet Trujillo-67kg (Muay Thai Rules)
Thai southpaw Saemapetch landed the better quality shots to earn a split decision win over Spanish upstart Trujillo. The tough Trujillo was the aggressor and got there with some good shots, but Fairtex’s punches and body kicks carried more weight. The pace picked up in the third round of the bout. Saemapetch, a Muay Thai Grand Prix champion, is now 112-39(10). Trujillo is now 33-1-6(10)
Alcorac Caballero WD4 Patrick Madisse-80kg
Caballero seemed to edge the first round, but Madisse caught him with a big left hook during an exchange in the second, dropping the Spanish fighter. Madisse, a French fighter with a savate background, didn’t follow up but waited for his opponent to lead. Hernandez came back to land some good punches in the third. In the fourth, Hernandez outlanded Madisse to earn the win. Caballero improves to 21-5(14). Madisse slips to 65-4-24(19).
Carolina Silva SD Patricia Rodriguez-65kg Female
Portugal’s Silva prevailed by divided decision in a Spain vs Portugal match up of 65kg female kickboxers. The stream cut out for a few minutes so I missed the fight. Rodriguez’s first loss to slip to 2-1.
David Garcia KO1 Romain Falendry-85kg
Spain’s Garcia scored a scary first round knockout of Frenchman Falendry. Falendry landed a good punch early. The two fighters exchanged, and Garcia landed a left hook that dropped Falendry and he looked in bad shape. The fight was immediately halted. Fortunately, Falendry was okay afterwards. Garcia improves to 21-1-4. Falendry is now 52-4-23(15).
Alberto Hernandez UD3 Marcel Gonzalez-70 kg
Hernandez hurt Gonzalez in the second round and followed up with knees to the body and punches. In the third, Gonzalez started well but by the end of the round it was Hernandez applying pressure with punches and throwing knees to the body. Hernandez improves to 15-6(4). Gonzalez, also from Spain, is now 6-1-2(2).
Andre Rosario UD3 Jordan Garcia-56 kg
Garcia was the sharper fighter in round one, but Rosario knocked him down with a right hand in the second. Garcia was game and landed a good punch early in the third, but Rosario fired back and hurt Garcia with a right hand. A follow up knee led to an eight count to Garcia by the ref. A tired Garcia survived the round, but lost the verdict on all judges’ cards. Rosario, of Portugal, improves to 12-6. Garcia’s record is now 9 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses.
