Enfusion returned to Tenerife Saturday for another event in the scenic Canary Islands.
With an orchestra, a singing performance, and also dancers, fans in attendance were entertained as they watched an exciting event that featured a number of knockouts.
In the main event, Muay Thai standout Superbon Banchamek was too much for tough Maikel Garcia. Here are results.
-64kg: Patricia Gonzalez (Spain) def. Carolina Silva (Portugal)-Unanimous Decision
The taller Gonzalez (3-1) came forward and scored with low kicks and some punches to earn the victory. Silva (7-5-2, 2 KOs) fought off the back foot mainly, and did some decent scoring but was out-landed over the three rounds.
-95kg: Moises Baute (Spain) def. Matthieu Kongolo (Belgium)-KO Round 2
Baute (17-6, 7 KOs) started quickly, and knocked down Kongolo with punches. Kongolo bled from the nose, and looked discouraged while he took the count. In round two, Kongolo (45-14-1, 28 KOs) tried to answer back with some knees. Baute pressured and scored another knockdown, and Kongolo took the count on one knee.
-70 kg: Milan Pales (Slovakia) def. Jose Bello (Spain)-Round 3 (Body Kick)
Pales (35-6-1, 19 KOs) had a good test early from Bello (26-5-1, 12 KOs). The Slovakian contender ended the right in round three, knocking down Bello with punches before ending the fight with a liver kick.
Pales moves on to a showdown with fellow contender Nordin van Roosmalen on 27 April in Slovakia at Enfusion 83.
-75 kg: Diogo Calado (Portugal) def. Maximo Suarez (Spain)-KO Round 1 (Body Kick)
Calado (38-16-1) looked sharp in defeating Suarez in less than a round. Suarez (54-7, 12 KOs) was aggressive, but Calado did a nice job of timing his punches as Suarez came forward. Calado also did a couple of nice sweeps.
Later in the round, Calado landed a couple of body kicks-the second kick landed in the liver area and Suarez went to his knees. He couldn’t continue, and Calado picked up an impressive win.
-67 kg: Walid Hamid (Morocco) def. Diego Freitas (Portugal)-Unanimous Decision
Hamid looked sharp in picking up the unanimous decision. The Moroccan fighter (48-4) mixed his combinations nicely, and did some nice body work on Freitas (30-8), working knees on the inside and body kicks.
-85 kg: Loren Javier (Spain) def. Ulrik Bokeme (Congo)-KO Round 1 (Right Hand)-Javier Wins Enfusion League
Spanish veteran Javier (98-28-4, 44 KOs) scored a shocking knockout over the highly-regarded Bokeme, as he caught him with a big right hand that dropped the African and ended the bout.
Bokeme had just tried a trip when Javier threw the big right hand. Bokeme (36-2) went down, and the referee didn’t bother to finish counting before he stopped the bout.
Jorge is the winner of the Enfusion 85 kg League, and he did so in emphatic fashion with a stunning KO.
-70 kg: Superbon Banchamek (Thailand) def. Maikel Garcia (Spain)-Unanimous Decision
In the main event of the Enfusion 81 main card, Superbon used a body attack to collect points and won a clear decision. Superbon worked knees to the body at close range, and then looked to land a high kick in the last round. The Thai fighter applied pressure to Garcia, who looked to connect with a big punch. Garcia landed a nice right uppercut in the first round, and a couple of good right hands, but Banchamek was never in trouble and had a clear points lead.
